Recommended Dosage
Commonly recommended dosages of Pterostilbene vary between 100 – 200 mg per day, and dosages of 250 mg per day have been found to cause no signs of toxicity and no significant adverse side effects. Pterostilbene is fat soluble and best taken with food.
Doses as high as 3000 mg per day have failed to show signs of toxicity in animal models, but due to a lack of research at high doses in humans it is not recommended to exceed 600 mg per day.
Pterostilbene Side Effects
Human trials of Pterostilbene show that it is non-toxic and is extremely well tolerated. In addition, almost no adverse side effects have been found in research settings at dosages up to 250 mg per day when compared to placebo.
High dosages of Pterostilbene have been shown to rarely cause an increase in LDL cholesterol, but this side effect has not been observed at typical supplementation dosages of 100-200 mg. Please consult with your physician before taking Pterostilbene.
